Tickets to Heaven on a Paved Road

Back in August, the road directly in front of our church was being entirely repaved by the city. I had just ordered a number of tracts from Living Waters, including Tickets to Heaven. A crew of 15 men were working hard and the day was extremely hot. I knew this would be a great opportunity to witness and to be a good testimony for our church. So I went to the local convenient store and put 25 cold Cokes in a cooler with ice.

As I carried the cooler out to the edge of the street, I waved to one of the workers nearby. I explained to him that our church wanted to thank the men for their hard work, and he smiled when I told him about the Cokes. Then I said to him, "You guys picked the perfect day to pave our street, because we just happen to have free tickets to Heaven for you and all your workers. He took one of the tracts with a quizzical look. So I said, "If you don't want to go to Heaven, just tear it up!" He smiled and sure enough, tried to tear up the tract. Then he laughed!

Before he went back to work I gave him 15 tracts, one for every one of his workers. You can imagine my joy when he climbed atop the giant paving machine and began passing out tracts to every one of his men. As he passed them out I overheard him say to one of his men, "Hey Joe...You REALLY need one of these!"
