Ashamed of Jesus?
"Ask the average Christian, 'Are you ashamed of Jesus?' and he will more than likely adamantly answer, 'Of course not. He's my Lord and Savior...'"

"Will Your Good Outweigh Your Bad?" printable tract
Most people think their "good" will outweigh their "bad" on Judgment Day. This tract contains a simple eight-question test they can take to find out. Print the tract, front and back, on a sheet of standard paper, then fold like a greeting card. Your friend can take the test by using a pencil or pen to punch out the answers. When the paper is fully opened, the answers to each question are revealed.
Basic Training Shoot
Kirk and Ray were filming content for the new Basic Training Course before a live audience of 300 people. They were about to do a role-play when Ray realized that he didn't have any of the Million Dollar Bill tracts he wanted to use in the role-play. So he mumbled, "I don't have any tracts on me." Suddenly, 300 people were pointing at him and excitedly shouting that he owed them $1,000! (He had said in his audiotaped messages that he would give a thousand dollars to anyone who finds him in public without tracts.) He thought that if he was ever caught without tracts, he could manage to find $1,000--but never in his wildest dreams did he think he might have to shell out $300,000! It was funny. The cameras were rolling, so the scene will be used as an outtake on the new eight-part series when it comes out in late October. By the way, although Ray didn't have the Million Dollar Bill tracts on him, he did have some smaller tracts tucked into his pocket.

One-Two Punch
Appointment Card TractWhile we were editing footage from the recent Evangelism Boot Camp in Huntington Beach, California, we watched a brother witnessing to a teenager. When the youth wasn't too concerned about his salvation, the Christian simply said, "I will leave you with my card with my phone number on it, and you can call me the day you are going to die." The youth said, "Huh?" The Christian repeated what he had said: "I will leave you with my card with my phone number on it, and you can call me the day you are going to die...and we can talk about eternity then." The youth was stunned. Then the brother added, "That's right. You don't know the day you are going to die, do you?" It was powerful, so we developed the idea into the Appointment Card tract upon which you can write your phone number and leave it with those to whom you speak.

Important: Budding Filmmakers
A number of people have been filming their own witnessing interviews and kindly sending them to us. Some of these we may include in future episodes of "The Way of the Master." If you are going to do this, please make sure that the sound is good and that you ask the person you are interviewing: "May we use this interview on national television?" If you don't have the person giving their permission on camera, we can't use the footage. Also, make sure it's digital, queue it up, and enclose a letter giving us permission to use it. Thank you.

Learn a Cool Coin Trick
If you have ever wanted to learn how to do a simple but very effective "magic" trick, check out this short instructional video sent to us Steve J. of Alaska. Sleight-of-hand like this is extremely useful for getting the attention of unbelievers. If you do this trick with a Ten Commandments coin or a pressed penny, it's easy to give the coin to the person and very naturally transition into a gospel message.

School of Biblical Evangelism
Share the Secret
Our ministry began with one teaching--"Hell's Best Kept Secret." God has graciously used it to change the lives of many individuals, and even the direction of entire churches. It seems to have a dual effect--God is using it to cause people to consider the validity of their own conversion, then giving them a deep concern for the lost. Would you therefore consider adding a "signature" to your emails, with a link to this teaching where people can listen to it freely online? If we all did this, countless others could learn the vital principles of biblical evangelism and be emboldened to share their faith.

Reaching the Lost in Your Hometown
Joey, a friend of the ministry, shared the following (wonderful) testimony. This creative idea for churches to train and send out "missionaries" into your own area shouldn't be "remarkable," it should be commonplace.

When school let out for the summer, I knew I'd have free time. For nine months of the year, I had sat under florescent lights, hunched over books, and didn't have much time to share the gospel with others. So when summer began, I made an appointment with my pastor and asked him to do something bold. "I want you to create a position for me," I told him. I pointed out that if I were to apply to be a summer missionary, our church would lend me financial support. (Our church supports missionaries, as most churches do.)

So I suggested something along the same lines: have our church support me as a "local missionary." Instead of paying to fly me to Uganda or Romania and acclimate to a new culture, learn the language, help out in the community, and hopefully share the gospel with a few locals, would the church be willing to support me doing street evangelism in our own hometown? The cost of plane tickets alone would equal all that my church would have to pay me if I worked locally for the entire summer at minimum wage to cover my expenses! Our pastor agreed, and I became our church's first "local missionary." So I spent this summer open-air preaching, doing lots of one-to-one witnessing, and training other church members to share their faith by taking them out on the streets.

Many people in our church find it too intimidating to actively share their faith...but they can lend support to someone who is willing to do it regularly! This summer, I estimate that I have personally, verbally shared my faith with about 1,000 people in our community. I was able to personally lead some of these people to know the Lord, and several others came to know the Lord through the efforts of the people I helped train. Many others said they had never understood the gospel message until our conversation.

Many churches are seeking a low-cost way to share the gospel, bring others to church, provide church members with ways to serve, and remain active in their local area. This is a great way to do it!

Do You Speak a Foreign Language?
Our friend Sonia Foley in Australia is creating a website with a biblical gospel presentation available to anyone in the world in their own language! She desperately needs translators who are willing to donate their time. Can you help? Contact her directly at sonitheechidna@exemail.com.au.

Special Prayer Requests
Please pray for a little girl in Australia named Haley. Her mother wrote to us to say she is beside herself with grief because her daughter is having continual seizures, and is battered, bruised, and fearful. Doctors don't seem to be able to help. Also, pray for Linda, a Christian lady who has bone cancer. Her case brought our phone operator to tears.

..:: Tracts in the Car ::..
Sent in by Cedric H. (Bloomington, MN)

My fiancee suggested a great idea that I thought I would pass along. I've been keeping a set of tracts in my car to hand out at drive-thrus or just to have extras wherever I go. I was storing them in a little coupon organizer book, but Jennie suggested I purchase a visor CD-holder to keep my tracts in. I like it much better than the coupon organizer because the tracts are always in reach, and instead of rifling through them I can see the tracts at a glance.

..:: God Makes it Obvious ::..
Sent in by Milt S. (Minneapolis, MN)

I had just received my first order of tracts from Living Waters - the Million Dollar Bill. The next morning, I prayerfully asked God to show me when to use them, since I had no clue, nor any guts to follow through. I said, "God, it needs to be REALLY obvious!"

I had a bunch of tracts in my wallet as my wife and I started out for work that morning. She asked me to stop at a local convenience store for something. I went in, paid for my purchase, and as I opened my wallet, I saw the Million Dollar Bills. Should I give the clerk one? I hesitated, not sure how this all was supposed to work. I was aware of the need to reach out, but too embarrassed at my first attempt to hand out the tract.

Another guy walked in, apparently a regular at the store. There was small talk between the regular and the clerk, and all the while I am arm-wrestling with myself over handing out the tract. Then, out of the blue, the regular asked, "So, Pete, have you made your first million yet?" "No," he responded. To which I promptly said, "Here! Here's your first million!" He was delighted!!!

How much more obvious could God be?!? Now I give them away like candy!
