Right after you do this trick, people will want you to do it again. Do not do it! Give them the coin and take them through the Law. Once you are done talking, reach into your pocket and grab another coin. Then you can do it again. They will not expect it because they will be holding the original coin. You can then give this coin to someone else if more than one person is watching.
Never do the same trick twice in a row for someone. If the person figures out how you do it, he will ruin future attempts for you. If he sees you doing the trick for someone that you want to take through the Law, he may yell out, "He is doing..." or, "I know how it is done!" The focus will be off of you, making it hard to continue on. Stick to your guns and say NO. If people badger you to repeat it, explain, "It's just smoke and mirrors."
I used to approach people by asking if they like illusions, sleight-of-hand, or card/coin tricks. Those words threw them off, so they would look at me oddly. But when I ask if they like "magic," they immediately say yes.
I have taught this coin trick to a couple of my witnessing buddies. In a small group or one-to-one, they try to use Curved Illusion tracts, this coin trick, and go right into the Law. I do other "magic" to draw bigger crowds. |
